Francom Group is seeking an experienced Franchising Solicitor to join our expanding Legal & Compliance team on the Gold Coast. About the Role As a Franchising Solicitor, you will provide legal, commercial, and compliance advisory support across a broad range of franchising matters. You will work closely with internal teams, senior leadership, and franchisor clients to ensure compliance with the Franchising Code, ACL, and broader commercial law obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal, franchising, commercial, and regulatory advice
- Draft, review and negotiate Franchise Agreements, Disclosure Documents, Licence Agreements, and commercial contracts
- Manage end-to-end franchising transactions, including new grants, renewals, resales, transfers, variations, and exits
- Ensure compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct and relevant legislative frameworks
- Assist with disputes, breaches, investigations, mediation, and enforcement processes
- Prepare legal correspondence including breach notices, termination notices, and compliance communications
- Provide legal support to HR, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and senior leadership
- Deliver training and updates on Code obligations and regulatory developments
- Maintain accurate legal records and uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrate and promote Francom’s LIEBN Values in all interactions
About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 2–4+ years PAE with franchising law experience (in-house or private practice)
- Strong understanding of the Franchising Code, ACL, and commercial law principles
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Desirable: experience with mediation, commercial leasing, IP, or dispute resolution.
