As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Compliance Officer to support our commitment to best practice, integrity, and compliance excellence.

About the Role
As a Compliance Officer, you’ll play a critical role in helping the business meet its legal, regulatory, and operational obligations. You’ll support the compliance and risk team in identifying potential breaches, managing internal audits, guiding staff, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations—particularly in the debt collection and health & safety space.
You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and advise on legal and regulatory requirements
• Investigate and report compliance breaches, risks, and discrepancies
• Conduct call and file reviews, and compliance audits on high-risk accounts
• Lodge Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) through AUSTRAC
• Maintain accurate and compliant records across internal systems
• Support and monitor new staff through training and heightened compliance checks
• Prepare documentation for legal and client audit purposes
• Collaborate with Learning & Development on compliance training
• Provide timely and accurate compliance feedback to stakeholders across the business
• Assist in resolving complex customer disputes involving outstanding debts
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
• Stay current on legislative updates and best practices

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Legal or compliance-related qualifications preferred but not essential
• Experience in compliance, regulatory risk, or debt collection industries
• Strong understanding of regulatory and operational compliance requirements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with excellent documentation and reporting abilities
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
